1. پہلی تلاوت حکمت 2:23-3:9

   ²³Because God created man for incorruption, and made him an image of his own everlastingness; ²⁴but death entered into the world by the envy of the devil, and those who belong to him experience it. ¹But the souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment will touch them. ²In the eyes of the foolish they seemed to have died. Their departure was considered a disaster, ³and their travel away from us ruin, but they are in peace. ⁴For even if in the sight of men they are punished, their hope is full of immortality. ⁵Having borne a little chastening, they will receive great good; because God tested them, and found them worthy of himself. ⁶He tested them like gold in the furnace, and he accepted them as a whole burnt offering. ⁷In the time of their visitation they will shine. They will run back and forth like sparks among stubble. ⁸They will judge nations and have dominion over peoples. The Lord will reign over them forever. ⁹Those who trust him will understand truth. The faithful will live with him in love, because grace and mercy are with his chosen ones.

2. جوابی زبور زبور 34:2-3, 16-17, 18-19

   ¹मैं हर वक़्त ख़ुदावन्द को मुबारक कहूँगा, उसकी सिताइश हमेशा मेरी ज़बान पर रहेगी। ²मेरी रूह ख़ुदावन्द पर फ़ख़्र करेगी; हलीम यह सुनकर ख़ुश होंगे। ¹⁵ख़ुदावन्द की निगाह सादिकों पर है, और उसके कान उनकी फ़रियाद पर लगे रहते हैं। ¹⁶ख़ुदावन्द का चेहरा बदकारों के ख़िलाफ़ है, ताकि उनकी याद ज़मीन पर से मिटा दे। ¹⁷सादिक़ चिल्लाए, और ख़ुदावन्द ने सुना; और उनको उनके सब दुखों से छुड़ाया। ¹⁸ख़ुदावन्द शिकस्ता दिलों के नज़दीक है, और ख़स्ता ज़ानों को बचाता है।

   ⁷“मगर तुम में ऐसा कौन है, जिसका नौकर हल जोतता या भेड़ें चराता हो, और जब वो खेत से आए तो उससे कहे, जल्द आकर खाना खाने बैठ!' ⁸और ये न कहे, 'मेरा खाना तैयार कर, और जब तक मैं खाउँ — पियूँ कमर बाँध कर मेरी ख़िदमत कर; उसके बाद तू भी खा पी लेना'? ⁹क्या वो इसलिए उस नौकर का एहसान मानेगा कि उसने उन बातों को जिनका हुक्म हुआ ता'मील की? ¹⁰इसी तरह तुम भी जब उन सब बातों की, जिनका तुम को हुक्म हुआ ता'मील कर चुको, तो कहो, 'हम निकम्मे नौकर हैं जो हम पर करना फ़र्ज़ था वही किया है'।“
