1. প্রথম পাঠ প্রজ্ঞা 2:1a, 12-22

   ¹For they said within themselves, with unsound reasoning, “Our life is short and sorrowful. There is no healing when a man comes to his end, and no one was ever known who was released from Hades. ¹²But let’s lie in wait for the righteous man, because he annoys us, is contrary to our works, reproaches us with sins against the law, and charges us with sins against our training. ¹³He professes to have knowledge of God, and calls himself a child of the Lord. ¹⁴He became to us a reproof of our thoughts. ¹⁵He is grievous to us even to look at, because his life is unlike other men’s, and his paths are strange. ¹⁶We were regarded by him as something worthless, and he abstains from our ways as from uncleanness. He calls the latter end of the righteous happy. He boasts that God is his father. ¹⁷Let’s see if his words are true. Let’s test what will happen at the end of his life. ¹⁸For if the righteous man is God’s son, he will uphold him, and he will deliver him out of the hand of his adversaries. ¹⁹Let’s test him with insult and torture, that we may find out how gentle he is, and test his patience. ²⁰Let’s condemn him to a shameful death, for he will be protected, according to his words.” ²¹Thus they reasoned, and they were led astray; for their wickedness blinded them, ²²and they didn’t know the mysteries of God, neither did they hope for wages of holiness, nor did they discern that there is a prize for blameless souls.

   ¹⁶সদাপ্রভুু অন্যায়কারীদের বিরুদ্ধে, তিনি তাদের স্মৃতি পৃথিবী থেকে মুছে ফেলবেন। ¹⁷ধার্ম্মিকেরা কাঁদলো এবং সদাপ্রভুু শুনলেন ও তাদের সকল বিপদ থেকে তাদের উদ্ধার করলেন। ¹⁸সদাপ্রভুু ভাঙ্গা হৃদয়ের কাছাকাছি থাকেন এবং তিনি চূর্ণ আত্মাকে রক্ষা করেন। ¹⁹ধার্ম্মিকদের বিপদ অনেক, কিন্তু সেই সবের উপরে সদাপ্রভুু তাদের বিজয় দেয়। ²⁰তিনি তার সব হাড় রক্ষা করেন; তার মধ্যে একটিও ভেঙে যাবে না। ²²সদাপ্রভুু তাঁর দাসদের প্রাণ মুক্ত করেন; তারা কেউই যারা তাঁর আশ্রয় গ্রহণ করে তারা নিন্দিত হবে না।

4. মঙ্গলসমাচার যোহন 7:1-2, 10, 25-30

   ¹এই সবের পরে যীশু গালীলের মধ্যে ঘোরাফেরা করতে লাগলেন, কারণ ইহূদিরা তাঁকে মেরে ফেলবার চেষ্টা করেছিল বলে তিনি যিহূদিয়াতে যেতে চাইলেন না। ²তখন ইহূদিদের কুটিরবাস পর্বের দিন প্রায় এসে গিয়েছিল। ¹⁰যদিও তাঁর ভাইয়েরা উত্সবে যাবার পর তিনিও গেলেন, খোলাখুলি ভাবে নয় কিন্তু গোপনে গেলেন। ²⁵যিরূশালেম বসবাসকারীদের মধ্যে থেকে কয়েক জন বলল, এই কি সে নয় যাকে তারা মেরে ফেলার চেষ্টা করছিল? ²⁶আর দেখ, সে তো খোলাখুলি ভাবে কথা বলছে আর তারা ওনাকে কিছুই বলছে না। কারণ এটা হতে পারে না যে শাসকেরা জানত যে ইনিই সেই খ্রীষ্ট, তাই নয় কি? ²⁷কিন্তু আমরা জানি এই মানুষটি কোথা থেকে এলো; কিন্তু খ্রীষ্ট যখন আসেন তখন তিনি কোথা থেকে আসেন তা কেউ জানে না। ²⁸যীশু মন্দিরে খুব চিত্কার করে উপদেশ দিলেন এবং বললেন, তোমরা আমাকে চেন এবং আমি কোথা থেকে এসেছি তাও জান। আমি নিজে থেকে আসিনি কিন্তু আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন তিনি সত্য যাকে তোমরা চেন না। ²⁹আমি তাঁকে জানি কারণ আমি তাঁর কাছ থেকে এসেছি এবং তিনিই আমাকে পাঠিয়েছেন। ³⁰তারা তাঁকে ধরার জন্য চেষ্টা করছিল কিন্তু কেউ তাঁর গায়ে হাত দিল না কারণ তখনও তাঁর সেই দিন আসেনি।
