1Then Job answered, 2“Truly I know that it is so, but how can man be just with God? 3If he is pleased to contend with him, he can’t answer him one time in a thousand. 4God is wise in heart, and mighty in strength. Who has hardened himself against him and prospered? 5He removes the mountains, and they don’t know it, when he overturns them in his anger. 6He shakes the earth out of its place. Its pillars tremble. 7He commands the sun and it doesn’t rise, and seals up the stars. 8He alone stretches out the heavens, and treads on the waves of the sea. 9He makes the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades, and the rooms of the south. 10He does great things past finding out; yes, marvelous things without number. 11Behold, he goes by me, and I don’t see him. He passes on also, but I don’t perceive him. 12Behold, he snatches away. Who can hinder him? Who will ask him, ‘What are you doing?’ 14How much less will I answer him, and choose my words to argue with him? 15Though I were righteous, yet I wouldn’t answer him. I would make supplication to my judge. 16If I had called, and he had answered me, yet I wouldn’t believe that he listened to my voice.WEB-C · World English Bible (Catholic). Public Domain. 答唱咏 圣咏集 88:10bc-11, 12-13, 14-15
9My eyes are dim from grief. I have called on you daily, LORD. I have spread out my hands to you. 10Do you show wonders to the dead? Do the departed spirits rise up and praise you? Selah. 11Is your loving kindness declared in the grave? Or your faithfulness in Destruction? 12Are your wonders made known in the dark? Or your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness? 13But to you, LORD, I have cried. In the morning, my prayer comes before you. 14LORD, why do you reject my soul? Why do you hide your face from me?

57As they went on the way, a certain man said to him, “I want to follow you wherever you go, Lord.” 58Jesus said to him, “The foxes have holes and the birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has no place to lay his head.” 59He said to another, “Follow me!” But he said, “Lord, allow me first to go and bury my father.” 60But Jesus said to him, “Leave the dead to bury their own dead, but you go and announce God’s Kingdom.” 61Another also said, “I want to follow you, Lord, but first allow me to say good-bye to those who are at my house.” 62But Jesus said to him, “No one, having put his hand to the plow and looking back, is fit for God’s Kingdom.”WEB-C · World English Bible (Catholic).
14But far be it from me to boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world. 15For in Christ Jesus neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation. 16As many as walk by this rule, peace and mercy be on them, and on God’s Israel. 17From now on, let no one cause me any trouble, for I bear the marks of the Lord Jesus branded on my body. 18The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit, brothers. Amen.WEB-C · World English Bible (Catholic). Public Domain. Source: eBible.org.
1A Poem by David. Preserve me, God, for I take refuge in you. 2My soul, you have said to the LORD, “You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing.” 5The LORD assigned my portion and my cup. You made my lot secure. 7I will bless the LORD, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons. 8I have set the LORD always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. 11You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.

25At that time, Jesus answered, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you hid these things from the wise and understanding, and revealed them to infants. 26Yes, Father, for so it was well-pleasing in your sight. 27All things have been delivered to me by my Father. No one knows the Son, except the Father; neither does anyone know the Father, except the Son and he to whom the Son desires to reveal him. 28“Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”WEB-C · World English Bible (Catholic).
