1. প্রথম পাঠ বেন-সিরা 35:1-12

   ¹He who keeps the law multiplies offerings. He who heeds the commandments sacrifices a peace offering. ²He who returns a kindness offers fine flour. He who gives alms sacrifices a thank offering. ³To depart from wickedness pleases the Lord. To depart from unrighteousness is an atoning sacrifice. ⁴See that you don’t appear in the presence of the Lord empty. ⁵For all these things are done because of the commandment. ⁶The offering of the righteous enriches the altar. The sweet fragrance of it is before the Most High. ⁷The sacrifice of a righteous man is acceptable. It won’t be forgotten. ⁸Glorify the Lord with generosity. Don’t reduce the first fruits of your hands. ⁹In every gift show a cheerful countenance, And dedicate your tithe with gladness. ¹⁰Give to the Most High according as he has given. As your hand has found, give generously. ¹¹For the Lord repays, and he will repay you sevenfold. ¹²Don’t plan to bribe him with gifts, for he will not receive them. Don’t set your mind on an unrighteous sacrifice, For the Lord is the judge, and with him is no respect of persons.

   ⁵“আমার বিশ্বস্ত ব্যক্তিদের একসঙ্গে আমার কাছে একত্র কর, যারা বলিদান দ্বারা আমার সাথে একটি নিয়ম করেছে।” ⁶আর স্বর্গ তাঁর ধার্ম্মিকতা ঘোষণা করবে, কারণ ঈশ্বর নিজেই বিচারক। সেলা ⁷“আমার লোকেরা, শোন, আমি বল; ইস্রায়েল, শোন, আমি তোমার বিপক্ষে সাক্ষ্য দিই। আমিই ঈশ্বর, তোমার ঈশ্বর। ⁸আমি তোমার বলিদানের জন্য তোমাকে তিরস্কার করব না, তোমার হোমবলি সবদিন আমার সামনে থাকে। ¹⁴তুমি সর্বশক্তিমান ঈশ্বরের উদ্দেশ্যে বলি উৎসর্গের জন্য ধন্যবাদ দাও এবং মহান ঈশ্বর কাছে আমার প্রতিজ্ঞা পূর্ণ করব। ²³যে ব্যক্তি আমাকে ধন্যবাদের বলি উৎসর্গ করে এবং সেই আমার গৌরব করে; যে ব্যক্তি সঠিক পথের পরিকল্পনা করে, তাকে আমি ঈশ্বরের পরিত্রান দেখাব।

   ²⁸তখন পিতর তাঁকে বললেন, দেখুন, আমরা সব কিছু ছেড়ে আপনার অনুসরণকারী হয়েছি। ²⁹যীশু বললেন, আমি তোমাদের সত্যি বলছি, এমন কেউ নেই, যে আমার জন্য ও আমার সুসমাচার প্রচারের জন্য তার ঘরবাড়ি, ভাই বোনদের, মা বাবাকে, ছেলে-মেয়েকে, জমিজায়গা ছেড়েছে কিন্তু এই পৃথিবীতে থাকাকালীন সে তার শতগুণ কি ফিরে পাবে না; ³⁰সে তার ঘরবাড়ি, ভাই, বোন, মা, ছেলেমেয়ে ও জমিজমা, সবই ফিরে পাবে এবং আগামী দিনের অনন্ত জীবন পাবে। ³¹কিন্তু অনেকে এমন লোক যারা প্রথম, তারা শেষে পড়বে এবং যারা শেষের, তারা প্রথম হবে। যীশু তৃতীয় বার নিজের মৃত্যুর বিষয়ে বললেন।
