Mass during the Day
First reading Hebrews 10:1-10
1For the law, having a shadow of the good to come, not the very image of the things, can never with the same sacrifices year by year, which they offer continually, make perfect those who draw near. 2Or else wouldn’t they have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having been once cleansed, would have had no more consciousness of sins? 3But in those sacrifices there is a yearly reminder of sins. 4For it is impossible that the blood of bulls and goats should take away sins. 5Therefore when he comes into the world, he says, “You didn’t desire sacrifice and offering, but you prepared a body for me. 6You had no pleasure in whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin. 7Then I said, ‘Behold, I have come (in the scroll of the book it is written of me) to do your will, O God.’” 8Previously saying, “Sacrifices and offerings and whole burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin you didn’t desire, neither had pleasure in them” (those which are offered according to the law), 9then he has said, “Behold, I have come to do your will.” He takes away the first, that he may establish the second, 10by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.WEB-C · World English Bible (Catholic). Responsorial Psalm Psalms 40:2, 4ab, 7-8a, 10, 11
1For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. I waited patiently for the LORD. He turned to me, and heard my cry. 3He has put a new song in my mouth, even praise to our God. Many shall see it, and fear, and shall trust in the LORD. 6Sacrifice and offering you didn’t desire. You have opened my ears. You have not required burnt offering and sin offering. 7Then I said, “Behold, I have come. It is written about me in the book in the scroll. 9I have proclaimed glad news of righteousness in the great assembly. Behold, I will not seal my lips, LORD, you know. 10I have not hidden your righteousness within my heart. I have declared your faithfulness and your salvation. I have not concealed your loving kindness and your truth from the great assembly. Some verses are read only in part; the whole verse is shown.

Gospel Mark 3:31-35
31His mother and his brothers came, and standing outside, they sent to him, calling him. 32A multitude was sitting around him, and they told him, “Behold, your mother, your brothers, and your sisters are outside looking for you.” 33He answered them, “Who are my mother and my brothers?” 34Looking around at those who sat around him, he said, “Behold, my mother and my brothers! 35For whoever does the will of God is my brother, my sister, and mother.”WEB-C · World English Bible (Catholic). First reading Wisdom of Solomon 7:7-10, 15-16
7For this cause I prayed, and understanding was given to me. I asked, and a spirit of wisdom came to me. 8I preferred her before sceptres and thrones. I considered riches nothing in comparison to her. 9Neither did I liken to her any priceless gem, because all gold in her presence is a little sand, and silver will be considered as clay before her. 10I loved her more than health and beauty, and I chose to have her rather than light, because her bright shining is never laid to sleep. 15But may God grant that I may speak his judgment, and to conceive thoughts worthy of what has been given me; because he is one who guides even wisdom and who corrects the wise. 16For both we and our words are in his hand, with all understanding and skill in various crafts.WEB-C · World English Bible (Catholic). Responsorial Psalm Psalms 119:9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14
9How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your word. 10With my whole heart I have sought you. Don’t let me wander from your commandments. 11I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. 12Blessed are you, LORD. Teach me your statutes. 13With my lips, I have declared all the ordinances of your mouth. 14I have rejoiced in the way of your testimonies, as much as in all riches.WEB-C · World English Bible (Catholic). Gospel Matthew 23:8-12
8But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi’, for one is your teacher, the Christ, and all of you are brothers. 9Call no man on the earth your father, for one is your Father, he who is in heaven. 10Neither be called masters, for one is your master, the Christ. 11But he who is greatest among you will be your servant. 12Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.WEB-C · World English Bible (Catholic).
