Mass during the Day
First reading 1 Corinthians 12:12-14, 27-31a
12For as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, being many, are one body; so also is Christ. 13For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether bond or free; and were all given to drink into one Spirit. 14For the body is not one member, but many. 27Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually. 28God has set some in the assembly: first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracle workers, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, and various kinds of languages. 29Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all miracle workers? 30Do all have gifts of healings? Do all speak with various languages? Do all interpret? 31But earnestly desire the best gifts. Moreover, I show a most excellent way to you. Some verses are read only in part; the whole verse is shown.

Responsorial Psalm Psalms 100:2, 3, 4, 5
2Serve the LORD with gladness. Come before his presence with singing. 3Know that the LORD, he is God. It is he who has made us, and we are his. We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. 4Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise. Give thanks to him, and bless his name. 5For the LORD is good. His loving kindness endures forever, his faithfulness to all generations.WEB-C · World English Bible (Catholic). Public Domain. Source: eBible.org. Read in context: Psalms 100:2, 3, 4, 5
Gospel acclamation Luke 7:16
Gospel Luke 7:11-17
11Soon afterwards, he went to a city called Nain. Many of his disciples, along with a great multitude, went with him. 12Now when he came near to the gate of the city, behold, one who was dead was carried out, the only born son of his mother, and she was a widow. Many people of the city were with her. 13When the Lord saw her, he had compassion on her and said to her, “Don’t cry.” 14He came near and touched the coffin, and the bearers stood still. He said, “Young man, I tell you, arise!” 15He who was dead sat up and began to speak. Then he gave him to his mother. 16Fear took hold of all, and they glorified God, saying, “A great prophet has arisen among us!” and, “God has visited his people!” 17This report went out concerning him in the whole of Judea and in all the surrounding region.WEB-C · World English Bible (Catholic). 7He, in the days of his flesh, having offered up prayers and petitions with strong crying and tears to him who was able to save him from death, and having been heard for his godly fear, 8though he was a Son, yet learned obedience by the things which he suffered. 9Having been made perfect, he became to all of those who obey him the author of eternal salvation,WEB-C · World English Bible (Catholic). Responsorial Psalm Psalms 31:2-3a, 3bc-4, 5-6, 15-16, 20
1For the Chief Musician. A Psalm by David. In you, LORD, I take refuge. Let me never be disappointed. Deliver me in your righteousness. 2Bow down your ear to me. Deliver me speedily. Be to me a strong rock, a house of defense to save me. 3For you are my rock and my fortress, therefore for your name’s sake lead me and guide me. 4Pluck me out of the net that they have laid secretly for me, for you are my stronghold. 5Into your hand I commend my spirit. You redeem me, LORD, God of truth. 14But I trust in you, LORD. I said, “You are my God.” 15My times are in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies, and from those who persecute me. 19Oh how great is your goodness, which you have laid up for those who fear you, which you have worked for those who take refuge in you, before the sons of men! Some verses are read only in part; the whole verse is shown.
