1. पहला पाठ प्रवक्ता-ग्रन्थ 17:1-15

   ¹The Lord created mankind out of earth, and turned them back to it again. ²He gave them days by number, and a set time, and gave them authority over the things that are on it. ³He endowed them with strength proper to them, and made them according to his own image. ⁴He put the fear of man upon all flesh, and gave him dominion over beasts and birds. ⁶He gave them counsel, tongue, eyes, ears, and heart to have understanding. ⁷He filled them with the knowledge of wisdom, and showed them good and evil. ⁸He set his eye upon their hearts, to show them the majesty of his works. ¹⁰And they will praise his holy name, that they may declare the majesty of his works. ¹¹He added to them knowledge, and gave them a law of life for a heritage. ¹²He made an everlasting covenant with them, and showed them his decrees. ¹³Their eyes saw the majesty of his glory. Their ears heard the glory of his voice. ¹⁴He said to them, “Beware of all unrighteousness.” So he gave them commandment, each man concerning his neighbor. ¹⁵Their ways are ever before him. They will not be hidden from his eyes.

2. अनुवाक्य भजन स्तोत्र ग्रन्थ 103:13-14, 15-16, 17-18a

   ¹³जैसे पिता अपने बालकों पर दया करता है, वैसे ही यहोवा अपने डरवैयों पर दया करता है। ¹⁴क्योंकि वह हमारी सृष्टि जानता है; और उसको स्मरण रहता है कि मनुष्य मिट्टी ही है। ¹⁵मनुष्य की आयु घास के समान होती है, वह मैदान के फूल के समान फूलता है, ¹⁶जो पवन लगते ही ठहर नहीं सकता, और न वह अपने स्थान में फिर मिलता है। ¹⁷परन्तु यहोवा की करुणा उसके डरवैयों पर युग-युग, और उसका धर्म उनके नाती-पोतों पर भी प्रगट होता रहता है, (लूका 1:50) ¹⁸अर्थात् उन पर जो उसकी वाचा का पालन करते और उसके उपदेशों को स्मरण करके उन पर चलते हैं।

   ¹³फिर लोग बालकों को उसके पास लाने लगे, कि वह उन पर हाथ रखे; पर चेलों ने उनको डाँटा। ¹⁴यीशु ने यह देख क्रुद्ध होकर उनसे कहा, “बालकों को मेरे पास आने दो और उन्हें मना न करो, क्योंकि परमेश्वर का राज्य ऐसों ही का है। ¹⁵मैं तुम से सच कहता हूँ, कि जो कोई परमेश्वर के राज्य को बालक की तरह ग्रहण न करे, वह उसमें कभी प्रवेश करने न पाएगा।” ¹⁶और उसने उन्हें गोद में लिया, और उन पर हाथ रखकर उन्हें आशीष दी।
