1. پہلی تلاوت یشوع بن سیراخ 17:1-15

   ¹The Lord created mankind out of earth, and turned them back to it again. ²He gave them days by number, and a set time, and gave them authority over the things that are on it. ³He endowed them with strength proper to them, and made them according to his own image. ⁴He put the fear of man upon all flesh, and gave him dominion over beasts and birds. ⁶He gave them counsel, tongue, eyes, ears, and heart to have understanding. ⁷He filled them with the knowledge of wisdom, and showed them good and evil. ⁸He set his eye upon their hearts, to show them the majesty of his works. ¹⁰And they will praise his holy name, that they may declare the majesty of his works. ¹¹He added to them knowledge, and gave them a law of life for a heritage. ¹²He made an everlasting covenant with them, and showed them his decrees. ¹³Their eyes saw the majesty of his glory. Their ears heard the glory of his voice. ¹⁴He said to them, “Beware of all unrighteousness.” So he gave them commandment, each man concerning his neighbor. ¹⁵Their ways are ever before him. They will not be hidden from his eyes.

2. جوابی زبور زبور 103:13-14, 15-16, 17-18a

   ¹³जैसे बाप अपने बेटों पर तरस खाता है, वैसे ही ख़ुदावन्द उन पर जो उससे डरते हैं, तरस खाता है। ¹⁴क्यूँकि वह हमारी सरिश्त से वाक़िफ़ है, उसे याद है कि हम ख़ाक हैं। ¹⁵इंसान की उम्र तो घास की तरह है, वह जंगली फूल की तरह खिलता है, ¹⁶कि हवा उस पर चली और वह नहीं, और उसकी जगह उसे फिर न देखेगी ¹⁷लेकिन ख़ुदावन्द की शफ़क़त उससे डरने वालों पर अज़ल से हमेशा तक, और उसकी सदाक़त नसल — दर — नसल है ¹⁸या'नी उन पर जो उसके 'अहद पर क़ाईम रहते हैं, और उसके क़वानीन पर 'अमल करनायाद रखते हैं।

   ¹³फिर लोग बच्चों को उसके पास लाने लगे ताकि वो उनको छुए मगर शगिर्दों ने उनको झिड़का। ¹⁴ईसा ये देख कर ख़फ़ा हुआ और उन से कहा “बच्चों को मेरे पास आने दो उन को मनह न करो क्यूँकि ख़ुदा की बादशाही ऐसों ही की है ¹⁵मैं तुम से सच कहता हूँ, कि जो कोई ख़ुदा की बादशाही को बच्चे की तरह क़ुबूल न करे वो उस में हरगिज़ दाख़िल नहीं होगा।” ¹⁶फिर उसने उन्हें अपनी गोद में लिया और उन पर हाथ रखकर उनको बर्क़त दी।
