1. پہلی تلاوت یشوع بن سیراخ 6:5-17

   ⁵Sweet words will multiply a man’s friends. A gracious tongue will multiply courtesies. ⁶Let those that are at peace with you be many, but your advisers one of a thousand. ⁷If you want to gain a friend, get him in a time of testing, and don’t be in a hurry to trust him. ⁸For there is a friend just for an occasion. He won’t continue in the day of your affliction. ⁹And there is a friend who turns into an enemy. He will discover strife to your reproach. ¹⁰And there is a friend who is a companion at the table, but he won’t continue in the day of your affliction. ¹¹In your prosperity he will be as yourself, and will be bold over your servants. ¹²If you are brought low, he will be against you, and will hide himself from your face. ¹³Separate yourself from your enemies, and beware of your friends. ¹⁴A faithful friend is a strong defense. He who has found him has found a treasure. ¹⁵There is nothing that can be taken in exchange for a faithful friend. His excellency is beyond price. ¹⁶A faithful friend is a life-saving medicine. Those who fear the Lord will find him. ¹⁷He who fears the Lord directs his friendship properly; for as he is, so is his neighbor also.

   ¹²ऐ ख़ुदावन्द! तू मुबारक है; मुझे अपने क़ानून सिखा! ¹⁶मैं तेरे क़ानून में मसरूर रहूँगा; मैं तेरे कलाम को न भूलूँगा। गिमेल ¹⁸मेरी आँखे खोल दे, ताकि मैं तेरी शरीअत के 'अजायब देखूँ। ²⁷अपने क़वानीन की राह मुझे समझा दे, और मैं तेरे 'अजायब पर ध्यान करूँगा। ³⁴मुझे समझ 'अता कर और मैं तेरी शरी'अत पर चलूँगा, बल्कि मैं पूरे दिल से उसको मानूँगा। ³⁵मुझे अपने फ़रमान की राह पर चला, क्यूँकि इसी में मेरी ख़ुशी है।

   ¹फिर वो वहाँ से उठ कर यहूदिया की सरहदों में और यरदन के पार आया और भीड़ उसके पास फिर जमा हो गई और वो अपने दस्तूर के मुवाफ़िक़ फिर उनको ता'लीम देने लगा। ²और फ़रीसियों ने पास आकर उसे आज़माने के लिए उससे पूछा, “क्या ये जायज़ है कि मर्द अपनी बीवी को छोड़ दे?” ³उसने जवाब में कहा, “मूसा ने तुम को क्या हुक्म दिया है?” ⁴उन्हों ने कहा, “मूसा ने तो इजाज़त दी है कि तलाक़ नामा लिख कर छोड़ दें?” ⁵मगर ईसा ने उनसे कहा, “उस ने तुम्हारी सख़्तदिली की वजह से तुम्हारे लिए ये हुक्म लिखा था। ⁶लेकिन पैदाइश के शुरू से उसने उन्हें मर्द और औरत बनाया। ⁷इस लिए मर्द अपने — बाप से और माँ से जुदा हो कर अपनी बीवी के साथ रहेगा। ⁸और वो और उसकी बीवी दोनों एक जिस्म होंगे’ पस वो दो नहीं बल्कि एक जिस्म हैं। ⁹इसलिए जिसे ख़ुदा ने जोड़ा है उसे आदमी जुदा न करे।” ¹⁰और घर में शागिर्दों ने उससे इसके बारे में फिर पूछा। ¹¹उसने उनसे कहा “जो कोई अपनी बीवी को छोड़ दे और दूसरी से शादी करे वो उस पहली के बरख़िलाफ़ ज़िना करता है। ¹²और अगर औरत अपने शौहर को छोड़ दे और दूसरे से शादी करे तो ज़िना करती है।”
