1. پہلی تلاوت طوبیاہ 2:9-14

   ⁹The same night I returned from burying him, and slept by the wall of my courtyard, being polluted; and my face was uncovered. ¹⁰I didn’t know that there were sparrows in the wall. My eyes were open and the sparrows dropped warm dung into my eyes, and white films came over my eyes. I went to the physicians, and they didn’t help me; but Achiacharus nourished me, until I went into Elymais. ¹¹My wife Anna wove cloth in the women’s chambers, ¹²and sent the work back to the owners. They on their part paid her wages, and also gave her a kid. ¹³But when it came to my house, it began to cry, and I said to her, “Where did this kid come from? Is it stolen? Give it back to the owners; for it is not lawful to eat anything that is stolen.” ¹⁴But she said, “It has been given to me for a gift more than the wages.” I didn’t believe her, and I asked her to return it to the owners; and I was ashamed of her. But she answered and said to me, “Where are your alms and your righteous deeds? Behold, you and all your works are known.”

2. جوابی زبور زبور 112:1-2, 7bc-8, 9

   ¹ख़ुदावन्द की हम्द करो! मुबारक है वह आदमी जो ख़ुदावन्द से डरता है, और उसके हुक्मों में खू़ब मसरूर रहता है! ²उसकी नसल ज़मीन पर ताक़तवर होगी; रास्तबाज़ों की औलाद मुबारक होगी। ⁷वह बुरी ख़बर से न डरेगा; ख़ुदावन्द पर भरोसा करने से उसका दिल क़ाईम है। ⁸उसका दिल बरकरार है, वह डरने का नहीं, यहाँ तक कि वह अपने मुख़ालिफ़ों को देख लेगा। ⁹उसने बाँटा और मोहताजों को दिया, उसकी सदाक़त हमेशा क़ाईम रहेगी; उसका सींग इज़्ज़त के साथ बलन्द किया जाएगा।

   ¹³फिर उन्होंने कुछ फ़रीसियों और सदूक़ियों ने हेरोदेस को उसके पास भेजा ताकि बातों में उसको फँसाएँ। ¹⁴और उन्होंने आकर उससे कहा, “ऐ उस्ताद हम जानते हैं कि तू सच्चा है और किसी की परवाह नहीं करता क्यूँकि तू किसी आदमी का तरफ़दार नहीं बल्कि सच्चाई से ख़ुदा के रास्ते की ता'लीम देता है? ¹⁵पस क़ैसर को जिज़िया देना जायज़ है या नहीं? हम दें या न दें?” उसने उनकी मक्कारी मा'लूम करके उनसे कहा, “तुम मुझे क्यूँ आज़माते हो? मेरे पास एक दीनार लाओ कि मैं देखूँ।” ¹⁶वो ले आए उसने उनसे कहा “ये सूरत और नाम किसका है?” उन्होंने उससे कहा “क़ैसर का।” ¹⁷ईसा ने उनसे कहा “जो क़ैसर का है क़ैसर को और जो ख़ुदा का है ख़ुदा को अदा करो” वो उस पर बड़ा ता'अज्जुब करने लगे।
